Mumbai Marathon

• Actors Arshad Warsi, Bipasha Basu, Shabana Azmi and Tina Ambani at the Mumbai Marathon 2008.

• Kenyan John Kelai and Ethiopian Mulu Seboka dominated proceedings at the fifth edition of the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, winning the men's and women's categories respectively in the 42 km-long race.
• Kelai won the men's title for the second year running with a time of 2:12:22:21 and was closely followed by Eithopian Tariku Jiffar 2:12:27:98. Fellow Kenyan Philemon Boit finished third with a timing of 2:12:34:57. Seboka set a new race record and won the women's category with a timing of 2:30:03:19.
• Mogaka Irene from Kenya stood second with a timing of 2:32:50:91 ahead of compatriot Karie Toroitich, who stood third at 2:33:55:69. Indian runners had a field day in the half marathon category with Surender Singh and Kavita Raut winning the 21-km race in the men's and women's category respectively
