Phaneesh Murthy is new IGATE CEO

• iGATE Corporation, a leading integrated Technology and Operations provider, has named Mr Phaneesh Murthy as its Chief Executive Officer effective April 1, 2008. Mr Murthy will take over the role from Mr Sunil Wadhwani, Chief Exe cutive Officer of iGATE since its founding in 1987. Mr Murthy has served as the Chief Executive Officer of iGATE Global Solution since 2003, and was previously Head of Global Sales and Marketing for Infosys Technologies.


• Phaneesh Murthy had a meteoric rise in Infosys. Joining Infosys in 1992, from Sonata Software where he worked as a regional manager, Phaneesh Murthy rose quickly in a conservative set up even as the company's profits and its stock price grew rapidly.
