- Microsoft Corporation India inaugurated its technology lab at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. The IITM Microsoft Windows Technologies Lab will harness innovation through research, and provide a platform for faculty and students to leverage the facility for research and training. Microsoft has offered Rs 90 lakh for the lab, which would start with R&D on `remote terminal services and cyber cafes based on Windows XP.'
