Keralaite held for terror links

  • A member of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) was arrested in Bangalore on 21stFebruary 2008 on terrorism charges.
    His name is Yahya (32), an electrical engineer.
    A native of a village near Kozhikode,Kerala (Northern part of Kerala) he came to Bangalore eight years ago after completing his bachelor’s degree in engineering. He stayed in Gurappanapalya.
    He had contacts with many suspected terrorists and held several meetings in north Karnataka. They were preparing to strike at key installations in the state.
